Sage's 7th month

Image
Here I am again with an update on our quickly growing baby. His 7th month flew by and was full of exciting new developments and precious cuddly moments. Sage's second tooth came in on the bottom and has been followed by the appearance of four top teeth! Two are still emerging but I can only imagine how uncomfortable his teething must be. Despite this Sage has been a happy camper of late. He has quickly mastered sitting up unassisted and is not afraid to bring himself back to the ground to play on his tummy or roll. Yesterday Sage did some scooting on his belly in order to get access to some toys that were several feet away. It was exciting and I wish I had it on video. Amara continue to be a wonderful sister and amazing little girl. Her fourth birthday is coming up next month! She has been enjoying her new class this year, "Yellow Team", with friends and teacher Ms. Theresa. Amara's favorite part of school is playing on the playground with the other children. She ha...

Month 6

Sage is now 7 months old! I have been so busy that my month 6 post is late. But it was a fun and exciting month for Sage and all of us. We traveled to Detroit to visit the Dawidowicz family and attend Tressa and Ian's wedding. We stayed with Uncle Pete and Aunt Amy who were very gracious hosts. We were able to visit a little bit with Grandpa Joe as well. His health is not well and he was glad to be able to meet Sage. What has the little guy been up to? Besides the obvious (sleeping, eating, growing, playing, smiling) he cut his first tooth this month. He also mastered rolling and can get from one side of a small room to the other by rolling if he wants. He also spent a lot of time in the "bumbo seat" (see photos) and tried his first "solid" food. After a few failed trials of avocado Sage has given the thumbs up to bananas, bananas mixed with peanut butter, and sometimes baby oatmeal. He also seems to like pureed carrots. We will keep trying new foods. His favor...

Month 5

Sage's rate of growth continues to amaze! He is wearing 9 month clothes and more active by the day. His recent challenge is trying to learn how to crawl. He is quite determined and tries very hard! Sage rolls on his belly many times a day to practice. He loves to grab toys and other interesting objects. He loves being outside and looking at the butterflies and pretty flowers. Today he grabbed and picked a flower from our garden! Amara and Sage continue to have fun together. Amara is a constant source of entertainment for her little brother. She talks to him and lays next to him and sings him songs too. Sage likes to go pick her up from school with Mom. He gets a sneak peak at what preschool will be like and loves all the energy and excitement there! This month our family went on a short but very sweet trip to San Clemente. We rented a "beach place" near the ocean and walking distance to wonderful restaurants. We stopped at a petting zoo on the way home and Amara took he...

Sage is 4 months old

Our little guy continues to grow SO fast. We can't believe the changes week to week. At Sage's 4 month doctor appointment he measured 28 inches long which put him in the 100th percentile for height! Most importantly, however, Sage and Amara seem happy and healthy and are building a sweet sibling relationship. Sage is becoming more playful, strong and able to do fun baby things. He can now roll from front to back and continues to roll from back to front (which he first did in his second month!). He has recently started grabbing and holding his feet ("happy baby pose" in yoga) which is just adorable. He smiles a lot (i.e. when greeting his family members), laughs when tickled or when watching Amara act silly, and he coos/makes cute sounds. I love to repeat them back despite how silly I sound! Our family went to the beach for the first time together. Sage's feet have officially been in the sand. We also have been enjoying play dates...

Sage is 3 months old

Wow, another great month has flown by. Our family has been spending more time outdoors enjoying our newly landscaped backyard. We have butterfly and bee friendly plants which are in bloom right now-- purple, red, white and yellow flowers. Sage and Amara enjoy spending time in the yard. Tonight Sage started laughing while watching Amara and Mom kick a big pink ball across the yard. Laughing is a new and exciting development! Daddy has been able to get Sage to laugh while making facing and tickling him. He has the cutest laugh! Amara has been a very nice big sister to Sage. She lets us know if she hears him wake up from nap and she reminds Mommy to "check on him". It is sweet and caring. She also likes to lie next to Sage on his play mat while he plays with his dangling toys. The sibling relationship is really special. Daddy has been working hard while Mom is still on maternity leave. Sage and Mom takes walks in the neighborhood when Dad is at work and Amara is at preschool. ...
